Modern Tactics 4 Editor Released!

The new editor for Modern Tactics 4 has just been released.

Note: You can only place tiles for now. In the next update, you can place objects (oil barrels, soldiers, crates) and dialogue boxes to make your own cutscenes.

Next week it will be updated again.

pretty nice editor. saved map selection and snow tiles looks awesome. tho i have some suggestion for tiles. since you decided to make oil barrels as an object why you couldnt do that with barbed wire and debris tiles? its so annoying not being place barbed wire on high ground. same with debris- i cant place it inside buildings because it looks stupid. tile sheet also has somewhat lack of different building floor tiles (wooden floor from ww2t maybe?). also huge lack of boxes and tree tiles, but it seems that we'll see those in other update.
great job overall, cant wait for another week

Wow. I just messed around with the different tiles and let me say this, massive graphical upgrade compared to your earlier games. I think the only thing that bothered me was that the tables/barbed wire/debris still have a preset tile uder it, although I liked that you made most of those have 3 different looks, I think it's just going to be better for the majority if it's made into an object. But this is only a beta so I don't know what you have in mind, perhaps your already working on it. Either way, looks awesome, keep up the good work.

Im not sure if anybody has noticed this but we cant rotate tiles :( and ya barbwire and debris should be a object like barbwire hurts a person but you can walk over it and debris is a red tile no matter what (unless you on it :P) some tips and i cant wait for updates :)

i am very impressed. it looks very clean and well done. my only 2 negatives would be that there are no tree tiles or box tiles like nep said and the map moves a little slow, for me at least.
btw darwinia, crtl click to copy a tile and shift click to rotate tiles.

Alright that's enough. I find it nice that everyone is happy and thanking lautan and all that but seriously some people need to get outside and see the real world. yes im back and it is going great but no MGs those are my favorite parts and wheels these are good and maybe a thin iron wall of vehicles that you can shoot and the bullets are coming to the other side but it does not move even well good luck on making the game yeah and why are those guy fighting again it is happening again is it this all ways happens some some makes a crack about some ones comment and boom the fight happens i guess if you guys meet face to face some thing interesting will happen thats a sight to see

the editer is very cool only problem is what spartan said earlier you see default tile under it and the fact that you cant rotate the tiles so try to fix that up in next update thanks

also a few ideas i had and want to refresh from people who have said them in this comments but nobody wants to search the middle for em so heres a refreshment :D
barbed wire should be able to walk through but hurts (you can make a perk that allows you to get through without getting hurt)
derbris should be red area no matter what.
decreased accuracy if the shot goes through a window

yeah i agree a MG should be bask and the barbed wire should hurt so and wire cutters to destroy it because i like make ww1 maps with trances and bunkers with MG and a tile that is elevated and able to put things on it like that 1 floor up tile but u can put a sand bag wall and i turns in to a heavy trench

You obviously don't know how it all works, then. If Lautan says "weeks", he actually means "months". If he says a specific month, he never specifies the year(so it could be August of any year).

Well he's messed it up so far Lime, he used the KT2 engine as a base rather than the MT3 engine (far superior in every way possible).

If I were him I would have taken MT3 and updated it so much that it was no longer the same game, then released it as MT4.

As it is it seems that MT3 will not be beaten by MT4.

joker it's only in brazil. the reason is that in 2007 the Brazilian government gave every homeless child in the slums a laptop computer and free broadband.

I hope it'll be like MW2 or something. I agree with mt3ftw's idea of constantly updating one game, though. Like Counter Strike. Same game, different versions. And it's always 1.1, 1.2, and such. There was never a "Counter Strike 2.1".
